Charles Nabit is a distinguished business leader and philanthropist with a legacy of academic excellence and professional achievement. He began his educational journey at the University of the South, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with magna cum laude honors. A consistent presence on the dean’s list, Chuck Nabit was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and joined the prestigious Order of Gownsmen Academic Society, affirming his dedication to scholarship.
He advanced his studies at the Marshall-Wythe School of Law, now William & Mary Law School, where he maintained a 3.5 GPA and graduated ninth in his class of 134. During his time there, Mr. Nabit received the American Jurisprudence Book Award and was named to the Order of the Coif. He also contributed to legal scholarship as an associate editor of the William & Mary Law Review and provided legal aid services to underserved communities.
Mr. Nabit’s professional career includes leadership roles in healthcare services and investment management. As the former chairman and CEO of Developmental Disability Management Services (DDMS), he helped build one of the nation's leading firms supporting care for individuals with disabilities. He currently serves as chairman and CEO of Southport Financial and manages a diverse investment portfolio through the Westport Group.
A lifelong advocate for community engagement, Mr. Nabit manages his family foundation’s giving campaign and has held board positions with organizations focused on arts, education, and healthcare, including his alma mater, the University of the South. His civic efforts also include co-operating a socially responsible, seed-to-plate restaurant in partnership with the Living Classrooms Foundation.
